A South African first joins the Northfield Engineering fleet
Mounted on a UD Quester 440 twin-steer truck named Bell, the
FASSI F905R.2.9-HXP TECHNO offers a maximum lifting capacity of 22 tonnes. It
has nine hydraulic extensions on the main boom and combined with the fly jib,
provides approximately 30 meters of horizontal outreach, thus expanding our
options for the accessing of and positioning of equipment.
The acquisition of Bell and the FASSI F905HXP represent a
further investment in our rigging, machine moving and mechanical installation
capabilities, giving our teams greater reach and control when handling
demanding site work.
A significant development is the crane’s X-Design boom
construction. With its ten-sided profile and ultra-high-strength steel it
improves structural rigidity and vertical lifting performance. This is
particularly valuable when equipment needs to be lifted and positioned at
heights.
With full radio remote control, the FX990 control system and
continuous slew-ring rotation support smooth, precise load positioning.
The FSC TECHNO stability system manages available lifting
performance in relation to the stabilizer setup, while ProLink articulation
provides additional flexibility when working around structures and existing
plant equipment.
With these additions to the fleet, Northfield Engineering
now operates seven crane trucks, complemented by a horse-and-trailer
combination, an 800-tonne gantry system and a fleet of forklifts with lifting
capacities ranging from 2.5 to 15 tonnes.
Together with our professional and skilled rigging and
installation teams, this equipment allows us to support everything from
individual machinery moves to complete factory relocations. Our capabilities
cover collection, lifting and transport, offloading, final positioning and mechanical
installation, giving customers one team to co-ordinate and execute the entire
scope of work.
