Marchesini Group designs and builds customised machines and lines for the packaging of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Founded in Pianoro thanks to the intuition of Massimo Marchesini, who built his first cartoner in a garage in 1974, with the aid of mergers and acquisitions in the sector, over the years Marchesini Group has gradually grown from a local enterprise to a multinational. With a turnover of 490 million (2021 figures) and a workforce of almost 3,000 at its Italian and foreign locations, Marchesini Group is a leading player in the “Packaging Valley” of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region and one of the global top four in the automatic pharmaceuticals and cosmetics machinery sector.

In order to better oversee international markets, the Group avails of 35 agencies, which together with 16 foreign subsidiaries, guarantee the presence in over 116 countries worldwide. 87% of the Group’s turnover is generated by exports, with important peaks in Europe, China, the USA and Latin America. Even though Marchesini Group has extended its foreign sales and after-sales networks, its true strength is that all the machines and systems are produced in Italy, guaranteeing top “Made in Italy” product quality, as well as enhancing relations with local businesses.
